Works in your area starting July 2025

You might not notice a lot of the work we do because most of it is beneath your feet. Every day, we’re maintaining and upgrading the pipes and pumps that keep water and wastewater flowing.

South East Water manages 8 Recycled Water Plants across its service region. We’ll be undertaking some works to upgrade the Blind Bight Recycled Water Plant you might see us or our industry partner ABK (Abergeldie, BMD, KBR) around.

Here's what to expect while we get the job done.

What we're doing

All works will be contained within the Blind Bight Water Recycling Plant. The project will involve:

  • Installing a new sewage pump station
  • Reinstating existing treatment lagoons

These works will ensure that South East Water continues to meet environmental compliance regulations and ensures the plant can cater for future growth.

You shouldn’t notice any change to your water or sewer services.

When it's happening

We’re planning to start work on July 3 2025 until February 2026. It should take around 7 months to complete (depending on the weather).

You can expect us to work Monday to Friday between 7am and 6pm. On the odd occasion, we might need to work at other times for safety, technical or permit reasons.

What might impact you

We’ll do our best to keep impacts to a minimum, however these are the kinds of things you might notice while we work:

  • Possible dust whilst equipment is transported in or out of site , dust surpression measures will be implemented if required
  • Periods of noise when heavy machinery is being used, including reversing beepers
  • Increased traffic on local roads, including along Gentle Annie Drive
  • A temporary site set up and storage area within the South East Water site

Please take care when travelling around the work site.

We’ll continue to work with you to minimise impacts, where possible, and keep you informed about upcoming works.

Please note all works will take place within South East Water’s plant.

Don't miss these details

We’re working with our deliver partner ABK (Abergeldie BMD KBR Joint Venture) to deliver this project.

You will notice increased traffic in and out of the plant. When we’ve finished the job we’ll leave things how we found them and make sure we return any areas we’ve impacted as close as possible to their original condition.
