You might not notice a lot of the work we do because most of it is beneath your feet. Every day, we’re maintaining and upgrading the pipes and pumps that keep water flowing. With upcoming sewer renewal works in Riviera Street, Seaford, you might see us or our contractor Abergeldie, BMD & KBR (ABK) around.

What we're doing

This project is to renew the sewer rising main pipeline in Riviera Street, Seaford to increase the reliability of the sewerage network and reduce the risk of spills.  We're working with ABK to help us.

Delays accessing Riviera Street - Thurs 2 April
On Thursday 2 April , we’ll work to backfill our excavation opposite 1 Riviera Street in order to shut down our site for the Easter period. 

Local residents may experience temporary delays of 5 - 10 minutes when accessing their properties via Riviera Street. 

Traffic control will help guide you around our works. Alternative access will be available via the Riviera Hotel.

Local residents may experience temporary delays of 5 – 10 minutes when accessing their property on Riviera Street between 7am and 3pm. 
 
Final stage of works 
Sewer main renewal works in Riviera Street in Seaford have been delayed. Construction completion is now planned to finish early to mid April. Thanks for your patience.

You can expect us to work Monday to Friday between 7 am and 6 pm. On occasion, we might need to work at other times for safety, technical or permit reasons. 

What might impact you

Car parking restrictions on Riviera Street during construction:

We need to reduce car parking space available along Riviera Street for our work zones. 

Additional parking will remain avaliable at the southern end of Riviera Street.

Local access will be maintained for residents along Riviera Street, with traffic control to guide you around our work zones.

We’ll do our best to keep impacts to a minimum, however these are the kinds of things you might notice during construction:

  • Restricted car parking on Riviera Street
  • Temporary fencing and safety flagging around our works zones
  • Temporary site compound and storage in the Riviera Hotel car park
  • More trucks and construction vehicles on local roads.
  • Noise from machinery, including noise from reverse beepers.
  • Traffic management to safely guide you around our work areas.

Don't miss these details

You shouldn’t notice any change to your water or sewer services while we work.

ABK will have a temporary site compound and storage area within the Riviera Hotel car park for the duration of construction works. These areas will remain in place until we finish the project.

When we’ve finished the job, we’ll leave things how we found them and return any areas we’ve impacted as close as possible to their original condition.

We manage an infrastructure program which involves replacing, maintaining and upgrading the existing water and sewerage infrastructure above and below the ground, so you can always rely on us when you need a drink, a bath, to wash the clothes or dishes and every time you flush or send water down the drain.

ABK will complete these works on behalf of South East Water. 

During construction we may need to block your driveway access. If this is necessary, we will notify you in person and where possible, provide at least 24 hours' notice so that alternative parking arrangements can be made.

To safely undertake these works, traffic conditions may change so please take care when travelling around the construction sites.
